A Balm of Friendship

Ahhhh. Eight more days of school! With things winding down quickly, I've gotten the chance (at last!) to break out the stamps I got for Christmas. I love this set from Waltzingmouse; it goes with my Nesties!

It's also for the challenges at:
One Stop Craft Challenge - buttons and bows
Tip Top Tuesday - use ribbon
Card Patterns - use this sketch

 Here's the recipe:
Papers - Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety
Ribbon - Really Reasonable Ribbon
Stamp - Waltzingmouse (I'm too lazy to go downstairs and look for the set's name. Just look under 'Nestie Friendly' on the website. It's there.
Die - Nestie

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop over today. Come again soon!

"Mom! You made a card again!"

How about that? The school year is winding down, test scores are in, lesson plans are sketchy but managed, and I finally, finally have time to craft! My soon-to-be-a-seventh-grader (are you kidding me?!)  son saw me photographing for today's post and was surprisingly pleased for me.

I do love papercrafting, but I'm also a big fan of paying the mortgage, and the two just don't seem to work together. When I scrap and make cards during the school year, it feels like work. I've learned to relegate it to the summer months when I can genuinely enjoy it.

Which is why the challenge at Flutter by Wednesdays looked like a great place to start my summer crafting. This week's challenge was to create a CAS card using a fairy of butterfly image. Ahhh here's a chance to get the wheels turning again without going too crazy.

This also flies (No more bad puns!) for the challenges at
The Play Date Cafe - It's color splash week! My favorite! This time it's add a splash of green.
Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - Gave me a sketch from which to work. It's adapted a little. check out this challenge blog; their sketches are easy and oh-so-cute!

To better match the sketch challenge, I tried inking up the embossing folder with black, hoping that I could make the notes pop. Fail. It kind of turned out in reverse, but just didn't work with the card.

The recipe:
The flutterby is from Unity, the sentiment is Verve's stamp of the month (for another couple of days), the ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and cardstock from my long-neglected stash. Sentiment was cut out with a Nestie, and the music embossing is from a CB folder.

Thank you sooo much for stopping by today! Enjoy your holiday weekend!
